Professional Practice (Nutr 531.30)

The Nutrition and Dietetics Practicum Program (Nutrition 531.30) is an integrated part of education and research in the Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region, and, as such, supports and is supported by the regions’ mission, vision and values.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Nutrition and Dietetics Practicum offered by Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region, in conjunction with the University of Saskatchewan, is to prepare nutrition students for entry to practice as a Registered Dietitian. The program provides nutrition students with a practice-based education that promotes innovation, leadership and life-long learning within the dietetics profession according to nationally accredited training competencies.

This dietetic education program is accredited under the Partnership for Dietetic Education and Practice (PDEP) and prepares students for eligibility for registration with a provincial dietetics regulatory body.

Admission to the Program

The program admits up to 13 qualified students from the 3rd year of the Nutrition Program in the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition, University of Saskatchewan.
