Hearing Aid Plan (now Hearing Health Services)

Home / Hearing Aid Plan (now Hearing Health Services)

Effective July 1, 2017, hearing aid sales and services for adults will no longer be provided by health regions. Saskatchewan residents may purchase hearing aids and services from private sector hearing clinics throughout the province.

Adults receiving benefits through Supplementary Health will now receive those same services through private clinics.

A longer wind-down period will be implemented for children requiring hearing aid services to ensure gaps are addressed and the private sector is able to meet service needs.

During this interim period, children’s hearing aid services will be available in the public system in Regina and Saskatoon. Hearing aid services for children may also be accessed in the private clinics where available.

The Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region is working closely with the Ministry of Health during this transition process. For additional information visit the Ministry of Health website and check out the Ministry's Hearing Services Q&A.
