Respite Care
Home / Respite Care
Respite Care is a program that provides temporary care to individuals who are normally cared for at home by family or Home Care.
It offers caregivers an opportunity to rest, tend to their own personal/medical needs, or go on a holiday. Clients are admitted to a long term care facility for a prearranged number of days.
These services help to keep people at home longer, improve quality of life and reduce potential for early placement in long term care.
More Information on Respite CareThe Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) recognizes the value of respite services for those individuals living in the community, for both the individual and caregiver, providing necessary breaks to manage personal or family needs, travel or provide time to take care of personal wellness and stress management. |
