Behind the scenes with EMS

Ever wonder what takes place behind-the-scenes when an ambulance is dispatched to a call?

Well, the region’s EMS team is teaming up with eHealth Saskatchewan to give you an inside-look of a full 12-hour shift, where anything can happen.

Follow along using the hashtag #eHRViewerLive onTwitter beginning Tuesday, February 7 at 5:30 a.m. to see first-hand how Regina EMS is using technology to access critical patient information at the touch of a finger.

Those without a Twitter account can follow the live tweeting on Twitter search. Existing users with Twitter can follow along on the region’s Twitter feed@rqhealth or eHealth Saskatchewan’s official account @eHealthSask.

The virtual ride along is part of a six-month pilot project to deliver patient care safer, sooner and smarter using the eHR Viewer – giving Paramedics secure access to a patient’s labs, prescription history and immunization records when every second counts.

The types of information available in the eHR Viewer includes:

  • Laboratory results
  •  Medication information
  •  Immunization information Discharge summaries and medical imaging reports
  • Clinical encounters Structured Medical Records
  • Chronic Disease Information

eHR Viewer enables better care by providing a provincial view of patient information that complements other available health care information. It can also reduce the need for duplicate testing and results in fewer administrative tasks.

Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to see first-hand how digital tools like the eHR Viewer are transforming the delivery of patient care.
