Santa Maria Senior Citizens Home
Santa Maria is currently owned by the Archdiocese of Regina and is operated under the direction of an interim Governing Board. Transfer of ownership to the Catholic Health Ministry of Saskatchewan is in process. A permanent Governing Board will then be appointed.
Santa Maria is affiliated and receives its funding from the Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region. Through the 1994 Affiliation Agreement with the District Board, Santa Maria retains its ownership and governance structure and continues to pursue its mission and ministry.
Santa Maria has evolved from a retirement home for priests and senior citizens to a health care facility providing 24 hour professional nursing and supportive care for 147 residents (this includes 4 respite beds for short-term placement). We provide Level 3 and Level 4 care and have one unit dedicated to the care of individuals with advanced Alzheimer disease and other dementias.
